Itinerary
BALI - IJEN CRATER BLUE FIRE TOUR
The Ijen tour from Bali will begin around 7:00 PM (Bali time zone). Our staff will pick you up from your hotel or villa in the Bali area (Ubud, Canggu, Kuta, Denpasar, Jimbaran, and Lovina). We will then drive to Gilimanuk Ferry Port (West Bali). We will then take a ferry for about an hour to reach Ketapang Ferry Port.
Upon arrival at Ketapang Port (a port in Java), the journey will continue to Paltuding (the starting point), which takes approximately 1 hour.
The hike will begin at 2:00 AM WIB. From here, it will take 1.5 hours to climb the slopes of the Ijen Crater (a trail approximately 3.5 km long). Along the walking trail, you will enjoy stunning natural scenery, fresh air, and the sound of birdsong.
Upon arrival, you will reach the summit of the Ijen Crater, at an altitude of approximately 2,385 meters above sea level.
If you want to see the blue fire phenomenon, the journey continues to the bottom of the crater, the journey takes about 30 minutes with a slightly dangerous terrain because along the track there will be many rocks mixed with sand so it is a bit slippery, when you arrive at the sulfur area you will enjoy the beauty of the blue fire, (blue fire is a unique natural phenomenon that occurs due to the combustion of sulfur gas that comes out of the crater of Mount Ijen, and occurs naturally)
Please note that the descent to the crater floor, leading to the lake, is not equipped with safe equipment for descent and ascent. We strongly advise against attempting this descent. Otherwise, the tour organizers are not responsible for any potential consequences.
After enjoying the beauty of the blue flames, we continue our climb back to the summit.
In the morning, around 5:00 AM, you'll be captivated by the stunning panorama of the Ijen Crater, featuring an acidic lake with turquoise water. The view is especially beautiful if you take photos above the crater. Beyond the scenery, you'll also see sulfur miners descending into the crater to extract yellow sulfur rocks and ascending back up along a treacherous path along the edge of the crater, carrying 40-70 kilograms of weight on their shoulders. This is dangerous and difficult work.
After enjoying the breathtaking views of the Ijen Crater, we'll descend to the parking area.
Before returning to Ketapang Harbor, if you'd like breakfast, our guide can take you to a nearby restaurant.
Upon arrival at Ketapang Harbor, we'll take the ferry to Gilimanuk Harbor, where we'll continue our journey back to your hotel or villa.
